Should I Wear Low Powered Reading Glasses?

Do you think you might need Reading glasses? If you spend long periods of time sitting at a computer, it is likely your chances of needing reading glasses are high. It is always a good idea to get your eyes checked by an Optometrist every one to two years. Low power reading glasses are commonly recommended to patients who typically have fair to good vision, so how do you know if you need reading glasses? Mild cases are usually diagnosed as Vision Syndrome. Low powered readers can significantly relieve symptoms from the moment you put them on.

Vision Syndrome

Vision Syndrome is usually caused by prolonged computer, tablet, e-reader, and cell phone use. Many people experience eye strain and discomfort when concentrating on digital devices for extended periods of time. The level of discomfort and vision problems increase with the amount of time spent viewing these devices. A combination of other factors play a big part in eye strain as well. Poor lighting, poor seating posture, improper viewing distances, and uncorrected vision problems contribute to Vision Syndrome. Some symptoms of Vision Syndrome are;

  • Headaches
  • Eye strain
  • Blurred vision
  • Dry eyes
  • Neck and shoulder pain
